The most common cars for swaps are the EG-chassis line of Civics. Wiring an OBD1 VTEC B-series into a 92-95 Civic PLEASE just a straight answer from the OBD GOD! THIS is pretty much what I found everywhere from all of my research on the internet in 2 weeks. Only thing I see is If you did not buy an obd2 swap for your 6th gen, things get much more complicated, and we will attempt to tackel that sometime down the road. I am just trying to look into every viable option other than repinning my whole wiring harness.Īlso pissedoffsol, I have gone through the site numerious times and I can seem to find what your talking about. This was making me think why can't I do the same thing with my OBDI B18c engine harness and get a OBDII B18c cabin harness? If I'm right the OBDII Civic doesn't come apart on the shock tower but the Integra does, in that case run OBDII cabin harness to OBDI engine harness, get OBDII to 1 converter and plug in my ECU ? RIGHT? PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. On honda-tech a couple of people were saying the plugged in there OBDII swaps into there factory OBDI cabin harness (the opposite way of which I want to go, I know) I'm not sure if there talking about where it comes apart by the passenger shock tower or in the car itself. Its been a couple of days, but I have a few more shots in the dark for you guys. It involves to much extra work, for something I already have complete (injectors, distributer and on a B18c a oil pump sensor) Accord and Prelude ECUs can use a letter and number code.Sorry, longlee. This is usually a two or three digit number stamped on the 28 pin ROM, or main processor.

The second digit "0" typically means manual transmission, where a "5" means automatic transmission, and the last digit "1" is the version number. There are other versions of this, but you get the idea. The last 3 characters are broken down into 3 parts. a P72 OBD I ECU is different from a P72 OBD II ECU. Different generation ECUs may use the same characters. The middle three characters are the most useful to identify what the ECU is. Three characters (which are the revision of the ECU) e.g.Three characters (which are loosely related to the model of car/engine).Honda's part number for ECU, which is always 37820.The part number consists of three components:

Honda ECUs run in generations, which use different connectors. There may be small daughter circuit board covering some of the main circuitry. Remove the computer, and with a philips screwdriver remove the metal lid from the top of the computer. The computer is connected via three connectors that pull out when a plastic clip is pressed. The ECU can be located in several places: under a metal plate in the passenger's footwell (models up to 91), in the passenger's footwell behind a plastic panel (models 92-99) or by the driver's footwell under a plastic panel (some models 2000+) To identify your ECU you will need to know its generation, part number and possibly its ROM number.
